Hypedrops: Our weekly meetings for knowledge exchange

At the beginning of 2020, we gathered the team of members and office employees for a full day of activities to set the goals of the beginning year. Together we identify forces, weaknesses and opportunities to elaborate a diagnosis of Hype, considering all organizational areas of the company. We went to the ideation phase and, from the exchanges that happened throughout the day, defined the goals for the year.

Among the points cited by the team, it was the need to increase knowledge integration and sharing. In a team of 17 people, we have different skills, historical and professional profiles; Despite the frequent happy hours, we had no specific time for the exchange of experiences not only of works and projects, but also of knowledge, trips and studies conducted by the team.

With the quarantine caused by COVID-19, we work completely remotely in home office. Given this new reality, without face -to -face meetings, the video conference tools became viable alternatives so that we could put into practice what we baptized "hypedrops".

The goal of Hypedrops is to reserve a time in the week to exchange experiences between the team, for everyone's growth. With each meeting, which on average has a duration of 30 minutes, one person has a subject of their work routine, some project or work detail, or even a trip, event or study already done and that has to be related to the architecture . After the presentation, it is also the time to talk a little about the work routine, about personal issues… a moment of interaction for a phase when we are all feeling a little more alone.

Since the first edition of the meeting in May, we have already held over 10 hypedrops, which happened through Google Meet. The subjects were the most varied - from the experience of monitoring the work of Praça4 to tips of good practices in Photoshop and Illustrator; mini bim and rendering workshops; Travel diary to Salone del Mobile, Itállia, or Orgatec, Germany.

For our team, the experience has been interesting. Architect Daieli reported that “it has been a great opportunity to 'find' co -workers during this remote working time. While sharing knowledge, we strengthen our bond as a team. And for Fernanda, one of our architecture interns, Hypedrops “is being an amazing experience, because we can learn from the experiences of colleagues and share ours as well.”

In addition to Hypedrops meetings, we have held quick meetings with suppliers to expand team knowledge about materials and technologies available on the market. We have implemented the "Hypebio", which is focused on more sustainable solutions to use in our projects. Certainly these team development initiatives will be perpetuated in the office's postpandy routine.
