In 2009, Sport Club International began the first negotiations with the authorities of the municipality of Guaíba to prospect an area to build their training center. After nearly five years, on October 3, 2014, the area of use of the area was signed between the club and the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The fundamental premise for the definition of the program Needs that guided the development of the project of the new training center was to reconcile the interests of the club - which will have modern facilities for all its base categories, professional group and employees - with the return to the population of Guaíba of infrastructure that also benefited the community , in this project of extreme importance for the history and future of the International. The land has 88 hectares of total area, 41 ha of useful area and 47 ha of permanent preservation areas; In the useful area, there are 45 fig trees, all immune to the cut, which will be preserved in harmony with the architectural and urban set.
The southern stretch of the project includes four spaces intended for the population. They are: a school, which the club will help viable, serving the community and the base athletes; a hotel, approximately 190 rooms, expanding the offer of beds from Guaíba; a catamaran pier, subject to later licensing, allowing the connection by waterway with the Beira-Rio complex; and a parking lot external to the area reserved for training, which can also be used by the public. and 4 exclusive of the professional group; 2 fields for goalkeeper training; 3 reduced fields and a fully covered half field; areas for the work of press professionals; areas for public reception; A mini -stadium for 2,500 fans, which will be the house of Inter's base categories; Accommodation of base athletes and concentration of the professional group with the respective leisure, study and food spaces; Medical, physical therapy and international level rehabilitation center, in order to ensure all necessary care, as well as the physical recovery of athletes; Biomechanical laboratory; In addition to traditional sports work spaces, such as changing rooms and gyms, as well as technical and administrative areas.
